In the eight hour course students learn the basic skills and key concepts of accounting. They learn the structure and purpose of the three primary financial statements – the balance sheet, the income statement, and the cash flow statement. Students also learn the basic language of business – such as cost of goods sold, expenses, bad debts, accrual vs. cash methods of accounting, FIFO and LIFO, and the difference between cash and profit. Additionally, they learn the importance of analyzing financial information in order to make better decisions for the company and their career. |
