This class is designed to train individuals who have a current registration as a nurse assistant to administer routine, regularly scheduled medications in an employment setting in which a licensed nurse is regularly scheduled and in a setting in which a licensed nurse is not regularly scheduled. The Medication Assistant Program II consists of a minimum time frame of 80 hours. This includes 40 hours of theory, 8 hours of laboratory and 32 hours of clinical learning experience.
Persons taking the class must be a currently licensed ND CNA working in a ND facility and have the consent of their facility to take the class.
Minimum number of students is 6 to hold the class. |

This program is developed for individuals who are interested in a career in nursing or preparing himself or herself for employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant. The class involves both lecture and hands on lab instruction coupled with 16 hours of clinical experience (times will vary for clinical experience).
Emphasis is placed on working with clients in the long-term care setting. Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to take the nurse aide certification examination.
A $100.00 non-refundable deposit is required when registering for the class. The CAN test has a separate fee of $110. Students are not completely registered/nor accepted into the class until the deposit is received.
